Ingredients You’ll Need

→ Base Ingredients

01 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
02 10 oz marshmallows (mini or regular)
03 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
04 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
05 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (use regular or natural)
06 1/2 cup unsalted butter

→ Topping

07 Optional: flaky salt to sprinkle on top

Steps to Make It

Step 01

Coat a 9×13-inch pan lightly with butter or a bit of cooking spray, then set it aside.

Step 02

Use medium heat to melt butter and peanut butter in a large pot, stirring until the mixture is nice and smooth. Toss in the marshmallows and stir constantly until it’s all melted together.

Step 03

Turn off the heat and mix in fine sea salt and the vanilla extract to taste.

Step 04

Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into your pot. Stir gently so everything gets coated evenly.

Step 05

Move the mixture into the pan you prepped earlier, patting it down softly using either oiled hands or a spatula coated with grease.

Step 06

While the mixture’s still warm, sprinkle some flaky salt on top if you’d like.

Step 07

Leave the treats out at room temperature for about half an hour to cool down. Cut them into squares and dig in!

Extra Information

  1. Don’t press the mixture too hard into the pan, or the treats might end up too dense and tough.
  2. Feel like spicing things up? Add melted chocolate on top or swap for chunky peanut butter.
  3. Want these gluten-free? Look for certified gluten-free Rice Krispies.
