Salty Peanut Krispies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
02 - 10 oz marshmallows (mini or regular)
03 - 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
04 - 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
05 - 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (use regular or natural)
06 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter

→ Topping

07 - Optional: flaky salt to sprinkle on top

# Instructions:

01 - Coat a 9×13-inch pan lightly with butter or a bit of cooking spray, then set it aside.
02 - Use medium heat to melt butter and peanut butter in a large pot, stirring until the mixture is nice and smooth. Toss in the marshmallows and stir constantly until it’s all melted together.
03 - Turn off the heat and mix in fine sea salt and the vanilla extract to taste.
04 - Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into your pot. Stir gently so everything gets coated evenly.
05 - Move the mixture into the pan you prepped earlier, patting it down softly using either oiled hands or a spatula coated with grease.
06 - While the mixture’s still warm, sprinkle some flaky salt on top if you’d like.
07 - Leave the treats out at room temperature for about half an hour to cool down. Cut them into squares and dig in!

# Notes:

01 - Don’t press the mixture too hard into the pan, or the treats might end up too dense and tough.
02 - Feel like spicing things up? Add melted chocolate on top or swap for chunky peanut butter.
