Coat a 9×13-inch pan lightly with butter or a bit of cooking spray, then set it aside.

Use medium heat to melt butter and peanut butter in a large pot, stirring until the mixture is nice and smooth. Toss in the marshmallows and stir constantly until it’s all melted together.

Turn off the heat and mix in fine sea salt and the vanilla extract to taste.

Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into your pot. Stir gently so everything gets coated evenly.

Move the mixture into the pan you prepped earlier, patting it down softly using either oiled hands or a spatula coated with grease.

While the mixture’s still warm, sprinkle some flaky salt on top if you’d like.

Leave the treats out at room temperature for about half an hour to cool down. Cut them into squares and dig in!
