Sugar Cookie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 1 3/4 cup of plain flour
02 - 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
04 - 1/2 cup of softened, unsalted butter
05 - 3/4 cup white sugar
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla flavoring

→ Cream Cheese Frosting

08 - 3 ounces of whipped cream cheese
09 - 2 cups of icing sugar
10 - 4 tablespoons of soft, unsalted butter
11 - 3/4 teaspoon vanilla

→ Decoration

12 - Sprinkles or candy shapes

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment.
02 - Combine butter and sugar, mix till creamy. Add the egg and vanilla, then stir in the rest of the dry ingredients until blended.
03 - Spread the dough evenly in the pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
04 - Whip the butter with cream cheese until smooth. Blend in the vanilla, then slowly add the icing sugar while mixing.
05 - Let the bars cool. Spread the frosting on top and dress them up however you like.

# Notes:

01 - Butter with higher fat content works great
02 - Keep in the fridge
03 - You can freeze before adding frosting
