Brownie Cookie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 3/4 cups plain flour (for cookie mix).
02 - 1 teaspoon salt (used in cookie recipe).
03 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
04 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
05 - 1 stick butter, softened (for mixing cookies).
06 - 1/2 cup white sugar (for cookies).
07 - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar.
08 - 1 egg (for cookie part).
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (used for cookies).
10 - 1 cup chocolate chunks or chips.
11 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
12 - 1 stick butter, cut into cubes (used for brownie batter).
13 - 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped.
14 - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (for brownie mix).
15 - 3 large eggs (in brownie batter).
16 - 1/2 teaspoon salt (used for brownies).
17 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for brownies).
18 - 2/3 cup plain flour (for brownies).

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 pan, line it with parchment, then spray again over the parchment.
02 - In a bowl, stir together flour, salt, baking soda, and powder for the cookie layer.
03 - Cream softened butter with sugars until light and fluffy. Toss in the egg and vanilla, then mix again. Stir in the flour blend and chocolate chunks last.
04 - In a heat-safe bowl, combine butter and chopped chocolate, melting it gently over hot water. Whisk in sugar, eggs, cocoa, salt, and vanilla. Stir in flour right at the end.
05 - Start by pouring brownie mixture into your pan. Crumble the cookie dough evenly on top of that. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Take the foil off, then bake for another 28-30 minutes.
06 - Let everything cool fully on a rack. Carefully use the parchment to lift it out, then slice it into squares.

01 - Begin checking if it’s ready around 48 minutes into baking.
02 - Store in a sealed container for 3 to 4 days.
