Sausage Crescent Rolls (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cheese & Seasonings

01 - 1/4 cup soft cream cheese (room temp is best)
02 - 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded—or try other cheeses you like
03 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder for a hint of flavor
04 - 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, freshly cracked

→ Base Ingredients

05 - 1 lb breakfast sausage, pork or turkey—pick your favorite
06 - 2 rolls of refrigerated crescent dough, fresh

→ Finishing Touch

07 - 1 egg, beaten if you want glossy, golden results (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). While waiting, prepare a baking sheet by covering it with parchment paper or a silicone mat so nothing sticks.
02 - Cook your sausage over medium heat in a big skillet till it's fully browned. Get rid of the extra grease and let it cool off for a bit.
03 - Stir together the cooked sausage, shredded cheese, cream cheese, black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl until everything's blended.
04 - Separate the crescent dough triangles and lay them flat. Put a hearty spoonful of filling at the wide end of each piece, roll them up snugly, and lay them seam-side down on the baking sheet.
05 - Brush the rolls with a bit of that beaten egg if you're going for a shiny, golden finish.
06 - Slide the tray into the oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until they’re perfectly golden brown and done.
07 - These are best when warm! Pair them with mustard, ketchup, or a rich breakfast gravy if you’re feeling fancy.

# Notes:

01 - Bulk it up with scrambled eggs in the filling for an extra hearty bite.
02 - Love spice? Use hot sausage or mix in red chili flakes.
03 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for three days. Reheat in the oven to keep them crisp!
