M&M festive bars (Printable Recipe Version)

Chewy bars baked with bright M&Ms, chunks of chocolate, and winter sprinkles.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Mix-ins & Topping

01 - 170g mini chocolate chips
02 - 110g holiday M&Ms, divided
03 - 30g colorful holiday sprinkles, divided

→ Dough

04 - 113g butter, melted
05 - 100g white sugar
06 - 100g brown sugar
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
09 - 155g all-purpose flour
10 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
11 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

# Steps to Make It:

01 - Pull out the whole thing with the baking paper, then use a pizza cutter or knife to cut it into squares.
02 - Leave everything to chill in the pan for at least 20 minutes, or until it’s not warm at all.
03 - Pop it in your hot oven and bake for about 22-23 minutes. Edges should look golden. Don’t overdo it—the middle should feel slightly set when touched.
04 - Toss on the rest of the M&Ms and sprinkles so the top’s all colorful before baking.
05 - Line a glass baking pan (about 23 by 33 cm) with parchment and press in the dough so it’s nice and even.
06 - Gently stir in about 1/4 of the M&Ms, roughly a tablespoon of sprinkles, and all the mini chocolate chips.
07 - Mix flour, baking soda, and salt straight into your bowl until you’ve got a soft, smooth dough.
08 - Crack your egg and pour in vanilla, then stir again ’til everything comes together and’s smooth.
09 - Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a big bowl, using a fork ’til it’s really combined.
10 - Switch your oven on to 165°C with top and bottom heat.

# Extra Information:

01 - If you want these bars chewy and moist, don’t bake too long. The middle should be a little soft when you pull them out.
