Hot Crab Parmesan Dip (Print Version)

01 - 1 pound fresh crimini or button mushrooms, finely minced (optional)
02 - 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
03 - 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
04 - 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasonings
05 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
06 - 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
07 - 1 tablespoon butter
08 - 1/4 cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs
09 - 7-8 ounces canned or fresh crabmeat or 8 ounces imitation crab meat, chopped small

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). If including mushrooms, clean them with a damp cloth and finely mince.
02 - In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add the breadcrumbs and stir to coat. Sauté while stirring frequently for about 2 minutes, until golden and toasted. Remove from heat, transfer to a plate, and let cool.
03 - Combine cream cheese, mushrooms, green onions, Italian seasonings, black pepper, and 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese in a medium-sized bowl. Mix well, then stir in the crab meat.
04 - Transfer the mixture to a 1-quart baking dish or small oven-safe skillet. Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese and toasted breadcrumbs. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until heated through.
