Meaty Cheese Roll Joy (Printable Recipe Version)

Crispy pastry, tender meat, and flavorful cheese make every bite mouthwatering.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Main Stuff

01 - 1 pack of fresh puff pastry
02 - 500 g ground beef or any ground meat you like
03 - 200 g shredded cheese like Gouda, Cheddar, or Emmental
04 - Pepper as much as you want
05 - A pinch of salt or more if that’s your thing
06 - 1 egg to brush the top
07 - Paprika powder to taste

→ Extras You Can Add

08 - Chopped parsley or chives if you’re into herbs
09 - Chopped onion, as fine as you want
10 - Bell pepper diced really small
11 - Some chili flakes or jalapeños for extra heat

# Steps to Make It:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment and turn your oven up to 200°C normal or 180°C fan. Let it warm up while you get things ready.
02 - Add your ground beef to a bowl, then sprinkle in salt, paprika, and pepper. Stir through onions, herbs, bell peppers, or chili if you want them.
03 - Roll out the pastry and let it chill on your counter for a bit until it’s soft enough to handle.
04 - Spread a layer of cheese all over the pastry. Drop your seasoned meat mix on top and make sure you leave a 2 cm gap along the edge.
05 - Carefully roll it all up from the long side. When it’s all rolled, squish the ends so nothing falls out.
06 - Beat the egg and brush the whole roll with it. This gives you a nice glossy finish.
07 - Slide the roll onto your tray and bake it for 25–30 minutes or until golden and super crispy on top.

01 - Swap out the meat for plant-based mince and you don’t have to change anything else.
02 - Toss in fresh herbs or crunchy veggies if you like more freshness and bite.
