01 -
Slide the roll onto your tray and stick it in the hot oven. Bake for about 25–30 minutes until the crust is crispy and turns a gorgeous brown.
02 -
Beat the egg and coat the whole outside of the roll with it. This makes it shiny and gives you a beautiful crust.
03 -
Line your tray with baking paper. Turn your oven on so it's good and hot—200°C if you’re using top and bottom heat, or 180°C with fan.
04 -
Starting along a long edge, tightly roll everything up. Pinch both ends shut so nothing leaks.
05 -
Sprinkle the cheese over your pastry. Then pile your seasoned meat mix evenly on top, but leave about 2 centimeters of pastry along the edges clear.
06 -
Roll out your puff pastry and leave it at room temperature for a few minutes so it softens a bit.
07 -
Toss your ground meat in a bowl. Add paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix in any extras like herbs, diced peppers, onions, or chili if you want.
