Crispy Oven Sweet Fries (Printable Recipe Version)

These sweet potato fries bake up crisp on the edges and soft inside. All you need is a quick soak in water, a pinch of seasoning, and you're set.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 teaspoon smoked or regular paprika for flavor
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 2 tablespoons olive oil (your favorite kind)
06 - 2 medium sweet potatoes, cut into fry shapes and peeling is up to you

→ Optional Extra

07 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch if you want them even crunchier

# Steps to Make It:

01 - When the fries are crisp and golden, pull them out and let them rest for just a bit before chowing down.
02 - Lay the fries out on the baking sheet you preheated — give them space so they don't get soggy. Bake for 25-30 minutes and flip them around halfway so they crisp up all over.
03 - Pat the fries totally dry with paper towels, then toss them with your olive oil and all the other ingredients. If you've got cornstarch, stir that in right now so everything's well coated.
04 - Drop the fries into a bowl of cold water and leave them there for about 30 minutes. This trick pulls out the extra starch so they get crispier.
05 - If you don't mind the skin, leave it on, otherwise peel your sweet potatoes and cut them into fries roughly a quarter inch wide. Try to keep them all roughly the same size so they cook evenly.
06 - Fire up your oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss your baking sheet inside while it heats up to get that surface nice and hot — it’ll help those fries get a good crunch.

# Extra Information:

01 - Start your fries off with a soak to pull out starch and boost crispiness
02 - A toss of cornstarch gives them that extra bite
03 - Getting your pan hot before you bake helps keep fries from sticking
