Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake Batter

01 - 1/2 cup milk
02 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
03 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
04 - 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
05 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
06 - 1 large egg yolk
07 - 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
08 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
09 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
10 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar

→ Fudge Layer

11 - 1 cup boiling water
12 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
13 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
02 - Combine 1/4 cup cocoa powder with 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl and set to the side.
03 - Mix the dry items first. In another bowl, blend the wet ingredients. Stir them together lightly and add the chocolate chips at the end.
04 - Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Scatter the cocoa-sugar mix on top. Carefully pour hot water over it—don’t mix.
05 - Cook for 22-24 minutes till the surface looks cracked and sauce bubbles slightly. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.

# Notes:

01 - It’s best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
02 - Dress it up with whipped cream or chocolate syrup for extra fun.
03 - Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
