Fried Apples (Printable Recipe Version)

Tender, cinnamon-spiced apples made simply.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 5–6 tart apples, cored, peeled, and sliced into wedges about 1/2 inch thick (around 2 lbs)
02 - 4 tbsp of butter

→ Seasonings & Sweeteners

03 - 1 tsp of cinnamon, ground
04 - A small pinch of salt
05 - 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar

→ Prevent Browning

06 - Juice from one lemon (fresh or bottled)

# Steps to Make It:

01 - First, peel, core, and cut your apples into thick slices. Toss the slices gently with some lemon juice to keep them fresh-looking while you prepare things.
02 - Place a heavy skillet (like cast iron) on medium heat and let the butter melt until it smells nutty and starts bubbling.
03 - Drop the apple slices into the skillet. Scatter the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt over the top. Stir it all up so the apples get nicely covered.
04 - Pop a lid over the pan and let the apples simmer for about 15 minutes. Stir every once in a while. They’re done when soft, golden, and caramelized.
05 - Once the apples are tender and glossy, take the skillet off the heat. Enjoy them warm as-is or with a scoop of ice cream or some whipped cream on top!

# Extra Information:

01 - These warm apples go great as a sweet breakfast side or a comforting dessert.
02 - Want more flavor? Sprinkle a little nutmeg or drizzle some honey over the top!
