Caramel Pecan Dream Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - 1 cup butter, softened at room temperature
02 - 2 cups plain flour
03 - 1/2 cup powdered confectioner's sugar

→ Filling

04 - 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
05 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt
06 - 1 cup brown sugar, packed tightly
07 - 1/2 cup light corn syrup
08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1/2 cup butter
10 - 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped small

→ Topping

11 - Optional caramel drizzle

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 pan with parchment, leaving extra on the sides to lift it out easily later.
02 - Blend together the flour, sugar, and butter until it looks crumbly. Press it into the pan evenly. Bake for 15-18 minutes, just until the edges turn light brown.
03 - Heat the sugar, butter, and syrup on the stove until it just starts bubbling. Let it cool for a few minutes. In another bowl, beat the eggs with vanilla and salt. Slowly add the warm syrup mixture to the eggs while whisking, then stir in the pecans.
04 - Spread the pecan mix over your crust. Pop it back in the oven for 25-30 minutes, baking until it’s firm and golden.
05 - Let everything cool down completely. Use the parchment edges to pull it out, slice into bars, and drizzle with caramel if you like.

# Notes:

01 - Lining the pan with parchment makes cleanup simpler.
02 - Add the warm syrup slowly to prevent cooking the eggs too soon.
03 - The bars need to sit until fully cool before slicing into them.
