Set your oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 pan with parchment, leaving extra on the sides to lift it out easily later.

Blend together the flour, sugar, and butter until it looks crumbly. Press it into the pan evenly. Bake for 15-18 minutes, just until the edges turn light brown.

Heat the sugar, butter, and syrup on the stove until it just starts bubbling. Let it cool for a few minutes. In another bowl, beat the eggs with vanilla and salt. Slowly add the warm syrup mixture to the eggs while whisking, then stir in the pecans.

Spread the pecan mix over your crust. Pop it back in the oven for 25-30 minutes, baking until it’s firm and golden.

Let everything cool down completely. Use the parchment edges to pull it out, slice into bars, and drizzle with caramel if you like.
