Brown Sugar Caramel Frosting (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
02 - 2 to 3 cups powdered sugar
03 - 1/4 cup milk
04 - 1/2 cup butter
05 - 1 cup brown sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up butter on a low flame in a small pot.
02 - Throw in the brown sugar and keep stirring until you don't see any crystals.
03 - Gradually pour in milk while moving the spoon gently.
04 - Turn the heat up to medium and let the mixture bubble gently. Stir nonstop for 2-3 minutes.
05 - Take it off the stove and allow the mixture to cool enough so it's warm, not hot.
06 - Mix 2 cups of powdered sugar into the warm mixture until it's smooth and creamy.
07 - If the frosting feels too thin, toss in a bit more powdered sugar to thicken it up.
08 - Stir in the vanilla last and make sure it's fully blended.
09 - Spread the frosting immediately while it's still soft since it thickens as it cools.

01 - Work quickly because the frosting firms up as it cools.
02 - Excellent for cupcakes, cookies, and layered cakes.
03 - If the frosting thickens too much, gently reheat or add a bit of milk to soften it.
