Snowball Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 teaspoons real vanilla extract.
02 - 1 cup of softened unsalted butter.
03 - 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar.
04 - 5 tablespoons white sugar.
05 - 2 cups finely crushed pecans, almonds, or walnuts.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt.
07 - 2 cups regular flour.

# Instructions:

01 - Add the salt and vanilla, and give it a good stir.
02 - Whisk the butter and sugar together until it looks really creamy.
03 - Blend the nuts into the dough mixture.
04 - Put in the flour a little at a time, making sure to mix it well each time.
05 - Split the dough into two portions.
06 - Wrap the dough pieces in plastic wrap and leave them in the fridge for 45 minutes.
07 - Start preheating your oven to 350°F.
08 - Take out your baking sheets and cover them with parchment paper.
09 - Roll the dough into little balls, about 1 inch each.
10 - Spread the balls out on the sheets, leaving about 1 1/2 inches between them.
11 - Pop the sheets into the oven for 12-14 minutes, watching for light brown edges.
12 - Let cookies rest on the baking sheets for about 2 minutes.
13 - Sprinkle a layer of powdered sugar on the cookies while they're still warm.
14 - Put the cookies aside until they're completely cool.
15 - Once the cookies are cool, dust them with powdered sugar one more time.

# Notes:

01 - Keep an eye on the cookies—they should only barely start to brown on the edges.
02 - Two layers of powdered sugar give that signature snowy look.
